I’m looking forward to my very first concert with the Australian Chamber Choir at 3pm on Sunday 14 September, 2014, at the beautiful St John’s Church, Flinders. The program includes:

  • John Taverner (c1485-1542) – The Western Wynde Mass
  • Thomas Tomkins (1572-1658) – When David heard that Absalom was slain
  • Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) –  O Jesus Christ mein’s Lebens Licht (BWV 118)
  • John Tavener (1944-2013) – Song for Athene (1993, performed at the 1997 funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales)
  • Brett Dean (born 1961) – Now comes the dawn (2007)
  • Brenton Broadstock (born 1952) – I had a dream (2005)
  • Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) – Salve Regina
  • Charles Villiers Stanford  (1852-1924) – Latin Magnificat for Double Choir Op.164

Performing in Hans Krasa’s Brundibar with Opera Prometheus at the Sydney Jewish Museum was probably one of the most rewarding musical experiences of my career. I feel pretty honoured to have been involved in such a wonderful project. Particular thanks to Mel & Sarah Penicka-Smith, and Sharna Galvin.
