Concord Ensemble presents its final concert for 2014, with sacred and secular music of peace, serenity and beatitude in response to an often tumultuous year filled with unrest and uncertainty across the world. The combined talents of the choir, soloists and instrumentalists (staff and alumni from the University of Melbourne) will perform a wide repertoire of music including –
Omnes de Saba (di Lasso)
King David (Howells)
Elegischer Gesang (Beethoven)
Tebe Poyem (Rachmaninov)
Hodie Christus Natus Est (Palestrina)
Beatus Vir (Monteverdi)
Music also by Stravinsky, Vaughan Williams, Gesualdo, Martin, Caccini, Mokranjac, Parsons, Britten, Pauletta and Handel.
Read Clive O’Connell’s fantastic review in the Age of the most recent Australian Chamber Choir concert. It was certainly a challenging program, but the concerts were a lot of fun, and we enjoyed performing for enthusiastic audiences in Geelong, Macedon, and Middle Park. Now to prepare for our live broadcast on ABC Classic FM on Sunday 30 November!
