I enjoyed a really lovely week in Sydney from end September to beginning October, where I rehearsed and performed the role of Sister Teresa, a Timorese nun, in Luke Cummin’s opera Timor. I also managed to squeeze in the four-day Musicological Society of Australia 2015 National Conference at the Sydney Conservatorium, for which I presented a paper on Benjamin Britten’s opera Gloriana and the soprano Joan Cross who created the title role. Phew! What a week.
