For the last few months I’ve been enjoying working for the Melbourne Youth Chorale, for which I’ve been organising a very exciting event called the Casey Big Sing! The Casey Big Sing is a day of music and fun for 8 to 20 year olds who love to sing.

Expert teachers will work with young singers to develop their vocal and musical skills. VCE students will join masterclasses with two of Melbourne’s most talented musicians.
Entry is FREE for all participants, with places for individuals and school choir groups.
The day will culminate in a concert that will feature a massed choir of all participants, performances from guest artists (including myself, performing Bizet’s Habanera), and showcase a selection of Casey’s choirs.
Individuals apply online at: https://www.trybooking.com/BCNMB

On Saturday 18 May I can’t wait to perform a short set of songs as part of the Mornington Peninsula Welsh Ladies Choir autumn concert! I’ll be singing folk songs by Manuel de Falla, Benjamin Britten and Aaron Copland, with a nineteenth century campaign song thrown in for good measure (being election day and all…!!). Starts at 2:30pm, and admission is free. See the poster below for further details!

The following Wednesday 22 May I will be hot-footing it to the Pilgrim Church in Adelaide, where Hugh Fullarton and I are premiering another exquisite song cycle by Andrew Anderson: ‘Songs of Sleep’. ‘Sleep’ is the theme of our recital program, and audience members can look forward to lullabies and songs by Brahms, Schubert, Mozart and more. The performance is presented by Recitals Australia. Starts at 12:10pm, and entry is $5 at the door.
